Select Security is as ISO 9001 regsistered company, we offer a professional and efficient serivce which is second to none. We offer a wide variety of security service such as Static Guarding, Mobile Patrols, Alarm Responce, Escort Duties and Event Security.

Selection and Vetting

Every Security Officer employed by Select Security (North East) Limited is subjected to very careful screening. A thorough check is made into previous work records and references are taken in writing from both previous employers and independent referees. Details of service in H.M. Forces, education and general background are checked, and only when we are completely satisfied in all aspects is the applicant offered employment. When recruiting we operate a policy of a minimum age requriement of 25 years, resulting in a more mature profile on our staff. Our vetting procedures and exceed the directives of B.S. 7499, the standard laid down for the Manned Security Industry.

Company Uniform

All Security Officers are supplied with Company uniform, which consists of dark trousers, white shirt and black tie. All Security Officers carry verified and dated identification with a photograph.

First Aid

Where the Security Staff is required to have first aid training and certificates, this would be adhered to, providing staff trained to St John’s Ambulance Standard.

Initial Training

The initial training period for new employees, regardless of previous security experience, is undertaken over a minimum of two days. This period of training allows the Company to assess prospective employees and make them aware of Company policies and operational requirements specific to various sites in the sphere of their responsibility. During the initial training the prospective Security Officers are supernumerary to any manning requirements of sites and/pr patrols. Qualified Company Personnel, who make an assessment at the end of the course, carry out training. This helps us to allocate the correct calibre of Security Officer to each individual contract.

Training Directives and Targets

The minimum training targets of the Company are listed below. They effectively conform to and exceed requirements prescribed in the B.S. 7499. The Company training targets are: -

  • Controlled access to specific areas
  • General access to specific areas
  • Report and log book compilation
  • Fire prevention, detection, use and recognition
  • Electronic devices, use and recognition
  • Work environment, Health & Safety
  • Civil & Criminal Law extracts (legal powers)
  • Intruder and Physical security procedures
  • Communication procedures
